What we've done
Here are just a few samples of the many pieces Lea has published. More are available upon request.
- A long-format profile of Bill Niman, founder of the Niman Ranch Cooperative, a national network of hundreds of farms that sell humanely and sustainably raised meats. At the time this piece was published, the concepts of sustainability and naturally raised ingredients were just beginning to gain acceptance in fast food, thanks in large part to the work of Niman and one of his clients, Chipotle.
- Some punchy bits for QSR's Best of 2007.
- A quarterly enewsletter for Duke University's Institute on Care at the End of Life. Readers included faculty members, medical and healthcare workers, and friends of and donors to the Institute.
- The 2007 annual report for Duke ICEOL.
- “A New Season,” a study of the efforts of Gulf Coast restaurants and food suppliers to recover from the double impact of hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Weaving statistics with anecdotes, this story was the cover feature for the May 2007 issue of QSR.
- Quick Serve Kids, a blog Lea published for about two years.
